Just curious... are these considered legitimate reasons for missing work or along the lines of my dog ate my car keys?

These are actually legitimate excuses. That's what makes them so amusing!
Uh, Melly bean? It was a DEAD moose. Besides, have you heard what moose do to cars if you honk at them?
